Jim Johnstone, the founder of ConstruktCLT, alongside Zach Fluker from ao-ft and Sanja Buncic from Elliot Wood took part in the designTimber talks webinar on Wednesday 8th of May, where they delved into a discussion about the 2023 private sector Wood award winning ‘Spruce house’.
Timber Development UK hosted a third series of lunchtime webinars featuring exemplary timber buildings from the 2023 Wood Awards winners and shortlist. This sequence of designTimber webinars featured architects, engineers, and specialists who are constantly pushing forward the boundaries of timber design.
These monthly webinars presented by timber development UK showcased the multi-disciplinary design and delivery teams behind a diverse range of inspiring projects, from high rise urban offices to engaging community spaces to innovative research projects.
Spanning offsite manufacturing, mass timber systems, robotic technology, traditional bolt-free joinery, and the reuse of marine timber, the series took participants to some of the many frontiers of contemporary timber architecture.
The key to TDUK’s mission is to educate, inform, and inspire today’s architects, engineers, and all other built environment specialists to construct better, more sustainable structures using intelligent timber design. We aim for this knowledge to be accessible to everyone, which is why the webinars were offered free of charge.
