Built over a five day period, this three storey extension of a Victorian terraced house in Walthamstow was designed to be highly energy efficient. Shortlisted for the Structural Timber Award in 2021, its CLT frame provides both flexibility and durability, with various roof angles allowing for interesting volume by way of double-height areas. Exposed timber surfaces contrast beautifully with materials such as the cast concrete and structural steel elements.
